"Don't be afraid to be ambitious about your goals. Hard work never stops. Neither should your dreams." - Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson

It's rare we delve into the world of sport for a helpful quote, but with his ever-increasing body of acting work and other achievements, we can make an exception for The Rock - and he is of course utterly correct. For without dreams and ambitions we get nowhere. The prospect of failure can be daunting, but it is only through failure that we learn and can properly grow: that's true of life in general, of academic pursuits, and of creative endeavours. As winter sets in, make sure you've got goals to work towards, both short term (a studio sitcom script, perhaps?) and long-term (hello, future BBC Comedy Commissioner!).
